Poll results show that people use more USER RPN than other languages. RPN is easier and don't need of help of other programs or cables nor transfers.
User RPL is more low level language permitting the beginner and the intermediate user make simple programs.
I believe that it is the preferred because it is easier and buit in.
It surprise than more people prefer ML than SYS RPL , maybe because ML is more eficient and more powerfull language than SYS RPL and it has less limits than SYS RPL .

Poll results show that more than 50% of people think TI calculators are good. Even considering the hipotesis that some TI users could also voted for TI, we can say HP users consider TI good calculators.

Many of HP users are also TI users and programmers. Like HP calcs dont mean dislike other trademarks of calculators.
This result was expected.

Today we live in a world where we already have fast Internet and fast computers that become every time faster.
It is natural that HP calculators users would like to have a faster calculator. We can say that IR ports can be replaced by wire connections with faster transfer rate and that languages like C++ or Pascal would be also fine.
Faster processing was the option of the majory, indeed it is what we need.

Greatest majory of people that voted think HP will become part of a multiuse device
It seems the natural tendence, that in the future we will have TV, CD-Players and other devices into only one.
Who can deny that in few years calculators will not be part of a multiuse device enclosing Cell phone, TV-set, clock and calculators?
Digital clocks already experience it today. There are radio with clocks and CD players and Cell phones with organizers and clocks.
Become part of a multiuse device seems to be the most probable future of calculators.
Other possibility is that calculators will be needed for a specific use, so they will remain similar as they are today.

Greatest majory of people ( 47% ) said download programs to solve problems. Indeed it seems to be natural and a logic decision to use calculators programs to help solve problems to get results faster an easier.
By other hand, 25% of people that have been voted said they download programs to learn programming.
Indeed it is a good way to learn programing and even myself do it.
I believe that these users are the ones intermediate or advanced users, or new users that like programming.
Other people use programs, maybe temporarely, in school tests.
The surprise in this poll was that only 6% of people download programs to upgrade an old version.

Windows is absoluely the most used OS. Ninety per cent of users have Windows as platadorm, only 10% use other plataforms. Considering the percent of users that have Windows we can see that 51% of the total and 56.6 % of Windows users don't have problems with transfers.
This is a bad number, as we can see 33% of the total users and 36.6% of Windows users have problems with transfers.
I am surprised that 9% of the total of users and 90% of non-Windows users have experienced problems with transfers.
It is not a credible data however, because only 6 people that voted are non-windows users.

Poll shows that people prefer indeed a cable from HP. Maybe because it have a best quality than other cables or even because can be found at the same shop where one buy HP calculator. We need considere here that many users have HP49 that already come with the cable included. I am of opinion that the cable from HP is really the best and that people that make their own cable are people that like to work with electronic or have it as hobby. HP48 users that use cables to transfer are, as I can see in my university, few people.

I am surprised that only two people wrote comments to the poll. I will make new polls without comments from now on, they seems to be more efficient than poll with comments.

According to the results of this poll users know about HP Calculators speaking one another. It is believed than even in the Internet Era, poeple are in contact in classes, work and with friends and use the word of mouth to talk about HP calculators, spreading and exchange information about it.
Also sites about HP calculators are important and reached 34% of votes.
The surprise of this poll was newsgroups with only 4% of votes. Indeed after Google buy Deja many people stoped post and read comp.sys.hp48.

Computing positive results pro HP49 ROM upgrades we can see that 61% upgrade the ROM.
Other people or don't upgrade the ROM or don't have HP49. This result, in my opinion, reflects the versatility of the Flash ROM. As we can see, the HP49 users have already get used to the Flash ROM. Bugs, however, continue being the largest source of problems.

Yes, HP is not the only calculator used in the world. Many users also use other calculators
It is believed that many users only use HP48/49 to make programs and other calculators to make calcs because they are easier to use.
